Epic swarms take a lot of coordination. There are not as many ultra-dedicated jumpers as people seem to think there are. Otherwise, every internet week time/location posting here in the forums would have epic swarmed. Metropolitan Pavilion didn't even epic on the first day.

Yes they do take a lot of coordination. That's why I've attempted to do some of the coordinating or passing along of information to try to attempt to get that badge for people since it's very difficult to get. We've gotten close a couple of times (over 900). Still, those have resulted in many people getting super swarm and super duper swarm badges.

I think the webbys will be the best opportunity this week for an epic, especially if the badge unlocks. An unlocking badge is the biggest draw. I'll never forget how much of a pain and how much work it took for the 10 gallon swarm. I hope 4sq doesn't do it again next year. :)

We have already coordinated three different swarms on MoG that surpassed 3500+ people (2 at SXSW and 1 in Indonesia). We have plenty of dedicated jumpers here.

And with all 3, there was a definitely a badge. That's why I'm thinking webbys is the best shot. Did the webbys badge image (which is on the webutante ball thread) come from foursquare's servers?

No that badge image was not from the 4sqr server. I just looked at the badge image code. With the new alpha numaric badge codes that 4sqr uses now for the badges i will be suprised if anyone gets a badge image before the badge comes out unless it is released by the brand ahead of time.
