    I just tested this badge and after 6 checkins still can not get it to unlock. Also checked twitter and found no recent unlocks. I sent The history Chan an email to see if they are just having badge issues of if it is retired. At this point I will assume it is retired. Hopefully they get back to me soon so we have a definitive answer. But in the mean time I am moving this badge to the retired section.

    I'm up to 8 checkins and nothing so I'd assume you are right. I saw on their facebook page they had a competition you could enter by getting the badge and yesterday was the last day to enter...I wonder if that means no more badge.

    I just got a response from the history channel and they confirmed that in fact it is retired.

    I wonder why It's still showing up greyed out in 4sq app.... Any ideas?

    If you follow a brand that ever had a badge it will show up grayed out in the trophy case forever. Even when it is no longer possible to unlock the badge.

    Good to know JR. You should put that tip somewhere on here with the other 4sq tips. Also, I assume the answer is no...but if you unfollow a brand after earning a badge, do you lose the badge?

    That would be correct. Currently you only need to follow the brand to get the badge. After you get it you can unfollow the brand and keep the badge.
